Tulsa Tea Party Mission Statement

Tulsa Tea PartyImage by randylane via Flickr

The Tulsa Tea Party, is in the process of incorporating as a non-profit organization. As such, we have written a Mission Statement, outlining who we are, and what we stand for. Comments are welcome.

Mission

We are a non-partisan, non-profit, issues based organization united by our shared core values to preserve the Constitutional Rights of WE THE PEOPLE of the United States of America, by limiting government; constraining government spending and taxation; and advancing a free market economy.

Our Core Values –What We Stand For:

  • Limited Government – As our Founding Fathers recognized, restraint of government is necessary to protect the liberties of the people.
  • Fiscal Responsibility – Government at all levels must learn to live within its means. To saddle future generations with the crushing burden of our excess spending is unconscionable.
  • States Rights – The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respective, or to the People.
  • National Sovereignty – We must maintain a strong national defense, effective security for our borders, and sole control over our land and our laws.
  • Personal Responsibility – Liberty is unsustainable without responsibility. Each citizen must take responsibility for the consequences of his or her own actions while respecting the rights and dignity of others.
  • The Rule of Law – Consistent, independent and uniform application of the law is critical to a free and prosperous society.

Code of Conduct — What We Won’t Stand For:

  • Personal Attacks – We’re debating positions and policies, not demonizing people or groups.
  • Unfounded Rumors – The easily verifiable facts are bad enough. Don’t weaken our position by stretching the truth.

Objective and Goals:

Objective:

  • Educate, motivate, equip and mobilize the citizens for informed participation in public debate and the electoral process

Goals:

  • Conduct public events to allow citizens to gather and speak out on our Core Values
  • Educate the public on our Core Values
  • Provide a forum on our Core Values for conversations between citizens and candidates/officials

Why I Voted Democrat

Get Back to SchoolImage by redteam via Flickr

This was sent to me in an email….You should all really enjoy it!

I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want.
I’ve decided to marry my horse.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they are doing because they now think we are good people.

I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.

I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the democrats see fit.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my ass that it is unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.

After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong! If you found this to be ‘Food for thought’ send to as many as you think will be enlightened as I hope you were.

(Please note that at no time is anyone told that they MUST worship God.)

I was forwarded this in an email, and I found it enlightening! It seems that EVERY SINGLE STATE’S CONSTITUTION’S acknowledges God, and invoke either thanks, or His Guidance. Throughout our history, we have been a Christian nation, but tolerated the free expression of other religious beliefs.

However, we have always condemned those religions that violated our basic morals. When the Mormons flaunted the laws of the land, and our basic morals with polygamy, they were driven from community after community. It was not until they gave up their polygamous ways, that they were allowed to practice their religion in peace. Nor do we allow “religions” that rely on blood sacrifices to practice these repugnant practices. Nor those that allow the abuse of women and children.

Why, then, are we supposed to look the other way when a “religion” of hate is coming into our country, and other countries, and proclaiming death sentences on any who speak out against the evil that is Islam?

The basic tenets of Islam, include killing all “infidels” (non-Muslims) who refuse to convert, The right to break any agreement made with an “infidel”, The BRUTAL subjugation of women, Polygamy and Jihad. Islam is NOT a peaceful religion that we can “coexist” with. The very tenets of Islam make that impossible.

If you doubt what I have to say, read the Q’uran for yourself!

Patriot Heroes Needed!!

"Republican Party Elephant" logoImage via Wikipedia

At the end of this post is a list of Strong Conservative Candidates that I have managed to come up with so far. Men like Oklahoma Candidate for Governor Randy Brogdon, and Florida Senate Candidate Marco Rubio, and the founder of the Minutemen Chris Simcox in Arizona. I would like to build this into a fully searchable list from all 50 states, with candidates for US Congress, and Senate from every district, as well as, local & state races, such as Governor, State Legislature, Mayor, City Council, and County Assessor. Please help me build this list by commenting, so I can add them to the list!

It’s going to take more than just a few protests to return America to it’s former greatness, and restore the principles of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. We have to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty! These folks have the Courage of their Convictions, and are willing to get into the frontlines of the battle, the least we can do is support them!

Let’s get the Right people in, and the Wrong people out!

  1. Get a list of everyone who voted for Bush Bailout (TARP), Stimulus, Housing Bailout 2008, or Housing Bailout 2009. Including Congress, Senate, Governors who accepted the $$, and State Reps & Senators who voted to accept it.
  2. Find out when their seat is coming up for reelection.
  3. Register to Vote as a Republican(can’t change the Party from the Inside, if you’re on the outside! And you can’t complain about the type of candidates they put forth if you don’t vote in the Primaries!)
  4. Find a viable, fiscal conservative candidate, and put ALL of the Tea Party resources behind them.
  5. VOTE FOR THE CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE!

Tea Party Action Idea

I have been brainstorming some action ideas for the Tea Party Movement. I know pe.ople have been talking about a March on Washington, DC. Well, I think this is a great idea, but it needs to be organized in a manner similar to the Million Man March. The Nation of Islam planned it MONTHS in advance, and gathered up donations, and chartered buses to take people to the march.

I think that’s what we need to do for the Tea Party Movement! We should plan a massive gathering in Washington, DC on April 15, 2010. We should meet, and use the We Surround Them ideaology of the Glenn Beck 9-12 Project. We should literally SURROUND them, and then March in as a whole, slowly tightening the loop, until we all meet in the middle at the Washington Monument Plaza!

The Tulsa Tea Party (www.tulsateaparty.org) is already starting to raise funds with an eye towards paying for the use of charter buses to take as many people as possible. If enough Tea Party Groups throughout the country will do likewise, we could converge on the Capitol with several million people, and make our message known!

I know that it is difficult to get so many people to travel, but that is why we should start raising funds now, to charter the buses. If the transportation is already provided, many people will get “on board!”

The Tax Day Tea Parties, that were held on April 15, 2009, were a great success, but that was not the end of it! The problems of overtaxation, and out of control Government spending, have not all just gone away, because we got together and shouted about it! The beauracracy that runs Washington is still there, grabbing power for themselves, and ignoring “We the People”! We have to keep the pressure on! Keep having Tea Parties, keep talking to people about it, remain vigilant, because that’s what it is going to take!

Freedom Isn’t Free!

“When liberty is taken away by force, it can be restored by force. When it is
relinquished voluntarily by default, it can never be recovered” – Dorothy Thompson

The New Guy and the Old Guard

There is a “new face” on the Tulsa political scene, who is challenging the “status quo“, and getting shredded for his efforts. Clay Clark, a successful small business owner, and the Oklahoma SBA Entrepreneur in 2007, has thrown his hat into the race for Tulsa Mayor. He is not a career politician, nor does he want to be. He told me

“I am only running for 1 term, I’m not going to be in there trying to get reelected. I’m going in to fix the problems with our streets, and the lack of Police on our streets.”

Clay is a breath of fresh air in the “old boys club” of politics as usual, here in Tulsa. Most of the establishment within the Republican Party, have taken great pains, to either marginalize him as a “goofball”, (one even introduced him as DJ Jazzy Clay at a GOP Event), or to attack him for “not understanding” the reasons that Tulsa County is the most taxed county in the state, despite also being the most Republican County in the state! The very party that claims to be about conservative values, like lower taxes and reduced Government spending, is the ones attacking anyone who proposes doing those things! Oh, they come out to the Tea Party Rallies, and say the right things, but behind closed doors, they attack those who actually try to make a stand, like Senator Coburn, State Senator Brogdon, and County Tax Assessor Ken Yazel! These great men, who defend our Constitution, also challenge the hold that these others have on power and money. When someone actually propose a real restoration of power to the people, and real tax reform, and tighter control on Governmental spending, they are shouted down, ridiculed, or have their character attacked.

It’s despicable, and makes me want to sever my ties with the GOP!

However, if we are going to effect REAL change, we need to have the name recognition of the GOP, so I propose that EVERYONE who is a liberty loving, TEA PARTY going, American Patriot, go register as a Republican, show up at EVERY party meeting and Club, VOTE in the primaries, and make them take us seriously!

No matter what the GOP may say, they DO NOT know what is best for us, or the Party. We the People, need to let them know that WE are in charge now!

AND I ASK AGAIN….

DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE OF YOUR CONVICTIONS?

Wrong People OUT! RIGHT People In!

San Francisco Tea Party on April Fools Day - 15Image by Steve Rhodes via Flickr

Everyday I talk to someone who is fed up with the “government”. But, nobody seems to have any idea what to do about it, other than “throw the bums out!” Well, that’s a good place to start, but HOW do we go about doing that? Well, I have an idea.

This needs to be done in EVERY DISTRICT IN THE COUNTRY! If the Tea Party Movement wants to actually have an effect, we MUST seek out candidates, instead of railing against “politicians“! There are candidates out there who do have ethics, morals, and a love for the Constitution, capitalism, and the American Dream! Find them! Find the “everyman” who has been inspired by the Tea Party Movement to run for office! Find the business owner, or minister, or construction worker, who has the Courage of Their Convictions, and is fed up with the guy we have in office now, and INVITE them to speak at a Tea Party Rally, or meeting! Have them set up booths to give out information, and meet the people. Give them links on your websites (or even WHOLE PAGES). Don’t listen to the Party, and just take whichever candidate they want to cram down your throat! Make the Party listen, and run the person that you really want! It is time to step up, and take back control of our country!

Here are some links to the votes on the Bush Bailout(TARP), Stimulus, Housing Bailout 2008, and Housing Bailout 2009

Is Your Congressman Representing YOU with Their Vote?
DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

And I Ask Again…..

Do YOU Have The Courage Of Your Convictions?
